UPTET 2026 — What This Exam Is About
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) officially released the UPTET 2026 Online Application Form on 27 March 2026. Candidates aspiring to teach in Classes 1–5 (Primary) or Classes 6–8 (Upper Primary) in UP government and aided schools must qualify this state-level teacher eligibility test.
The examination is scheduled across three days: 02, 03, and 04 July 2026. The application window is open until 26 April 2026, with a correction facility available until 01 May 2026.

Fee Structure — Category-Wise
The application fee is non-refundable and must be paid online before 26 April 2026. Candidates must upload valid category certificates when claiming the concessional fee rates.

Qualification Requirements for Paper 1 & Paper 2
There is no fixed age limit for UPTET. Candidates must fulfil the minimum educational qualification for the level they wish to teach. Final-year students of qualifying courses are also eligible to apply.
Primary Level (PRT)
- Graduation (50%+) + 2-year D.El.Ed / BTC
- Graduation (50%+) + B.Ed or B.El.Ed degree
- Any NCTE-recognised teacher training qualification
- Final-year D.El.Ed / B.Ed / B.El.Ed students eligible
Upper Primary Level (TGT)
- Graduation (50%+) + B.Ed degree
- Graduation (50%+) + 2-year D.El.Ed / BTC
- 4-year integrated B.A.B.Ed or B.Sc.B.Ed degree
- RCI-recognised special education qualifications
- Final-year B.Ed or equivalent students eligible

Where a UPTET Certificate Opens Doors
A UPTET certificate is valid for 5 years from the date of result declaration. Qualifying UPTET makes you eligible to apply for teaching posts but does not guarantee a direct appointment — you must separately apply in teacher recruitment drives.
